Belterra is a beautiful master-planned
community situated peacefully in deep Southwest Austin.
Belterra is a popular choice among families who want
to live fairly close to the city, yet far enough away
to enjoy a more laid back lifestyle. If you’re
looking for a neighborhood with major shopping right
at your fingertips, Belterra probably isn’t your
best choice. But if you’re willing to drive just
10 minutes to major shopping centers in exchange for
peaceful country living, Belterra is probably the perfect
neighborhood for you.
The Belterra Recreation Center
features a beautiful junior Olympic pool, outdoor
pavilion, fitness center,
sports court, and ball fields. In addition to all of
this, the Center’s playground for children includes
a kiddie pool complete with fountains and water-dumping
buckets for those Texas summers. Belterra features
an extensive 25-mile trail system that winds through
the neighborhood, making for appealing and convenient
exercise and recreation. The Belterra's active neighborhood
association regularly sponsors community activities
such as movies in the park and book clubs.
Belterra is located in Hays County
about 10 minutes west of the “Y” in Oak Hill and about 25
minutes from downtown Austin. Bordering the neighborhood
are Sawyer Ranch Road on the west, Nutty Brown Road
on the east, and US 290 on the north. A new section
of Belterra, which is called “The Views at Belterra,” is
also currently being developed on the east side of
Nutty Brown Road.
Belterra residents attend schools in
the award-winning Dripping Springs Independent School
District. Elementary
age children attend brand new Rooster Springs Elementary,
which is conveniently located in the middle of the
neighborhood. Older students attend Dripping Springs
Middle and Dripping Springs High School. Other nearby
preschools include
Dripping Springs United Methodist Preschool,
First Baptist Preschool, Your Growing Child
Preschool, and Montessori Country Day School.
Belterra is growing rapidly and will eventually total
to around 2,000 residences. As of September 2008, about
800 homes had been built or were under construction.
Homeowners in Belterra can choose from new or resale
homes of varying lot sizes. Homes range in size from
about 1,800 square feet to almost 5,000 square feet,
with prices that start at about 225K and stretch up
to over 500K.
