Travis Country is a pleasant suburban neighborhood peacefully
tucked away behind numerous large oaks and beautiful greenbelt
areas in Southwest Austin. While Travis Country residents
may feel miles away from all the hustle and bustle of big
city life, the neighborhood is actually conveniently within
close proximity of the intersection of Mopac Expressway
and Southwest Parkway. This allows quick, easy access to
the downtown Austin area, which is only 10 minutes away.
Barton Creek Mall, for that matter, is 5 minutes way, Lake
Travis is 15 minutes away, and an area as far north as
Round Rock is only about 25 minutes from Travis Country.

amenities. For a very reasonable $35 a month HOA due,
Travis Country residents enjoy a community center, 8
tennis courts, 3 basketball courts, 4 pools (2 wading),
playscapes, a pond with ducks, and a nature trail.
Travis Country is also bordered to the north by the
Barton Creek Greenbelt, one of the most popular greenbelts
in Austin with over 800 acres of outdoor recreation.
With numerous entry points in the neighborhood, Travis
Country residents can easily gain access to miles and
miles of beautiful hiking and biking trails in the greenbelt.
About a mile north of the neighborhood is a popular natural
swimming hole in the Barton Creek Greenbelt called Twin

Travis Country was first developed
in the early ‘70s
and continued strong until the mid- ‘80s when most
real estate markets, including the Austin market, crashed.
When the market finally turned around again in the early ‘90s,
people started buying up the remaining lots in Travis
Country and quickly finished out the neighborhood. Travis
Country includes some 1400 homes, including those in
Travis Country Green, Trailwood Village, Village Park,
and Lost Creek at Gaines Ranch. Homes in Travis Country
range in size from about 1,800 square feet to over 3,500
square feet and range in price from the upper 200s to
about 500K. About 5 minutes further west on Southwest
Parkway, you’ll also find the newer Travis Country
West subdivision which began development in 2002 and
features homes ranging in size from 2,100 sq ft to 3,600
sq ft with pricing ranging from about 300K to almost
