Round Rock Texas Neighborhoods

Recently recognized as one of the safest cities with a population of 100K or more, Round Rock is a great family friendly community located just 20 miles north of Austin. Not only is Round Rock one of the safest cities, but it is also ranked as one of the fastest growing cities in the country right now as well. What attracts many people to Round Rock is affordable housing in nice neighborhoods with a strong economy and excellent public schools for school age children. While many Round Rock residents still do commute into Austin for employment, Round Rock has become much more than just a bedroom community of Austin. Round Rock has a great economic development plan in place and is attracting more and more companies to locate to Round Rock with its favorable tax rates and talented work force.
Round Rock is of course the world headquarters of Dell Computers. Dell employs about 14,000 people in its Round Rock campuses as of 2013 and is the largest private employer in the Central Texas area. Other small high tech companies have also set up locations in the Round Rock area to service some of the many service needs of Dell.
Round Rock has also seen major commercial growth in recent years and residents now have easy access to major shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Recent commercial developments include the Premium Outlet Mall, IKEA, and the La Frontera Shopping Center and plans for other major developments are underway. Scott & White Hospital now offers comprehensive medical services to Round Rock area residents, and the Round Rock branch of Texas State University offers several quality degree programs to area residents as well.
