North Austin Neighborhoods

North Austin offers a great selection of nice, well-established neighborhoods in a variety of price points. There is very little new construction going on in North Austin now as most of the new development has been pushed further north into the Round Rock and Cedar Park area. However, the North Austin area features many tastefully updated homes in great all around neighborhoods.

NW Austin is also home to many highly rated public schools. Some of these highly regarded schools are in Austin ISD and others in Round Rock ISD as Round Rock ISD actually does include some North Austin neighborhoods.

Many popular North Austin neighborhoods such as Great Hills, Jester, and Cat Mountain feature beautiful rolling hills and panoramic views of the surrounding area. Great Hills, Balcones Village, and the very popular Avery Ranch neighborhood in far North Austin also feature great golf courses and clubhouses.

North Austin is also home to many great high tech employers including IBM, Applied Materials, National Instruments, and Samsung. Living in North Austin can make for a real quick, easy commute to any of these great employers.

The only downside to living in a far North Austin neighborhood is that major roadways heading north and south can get congested during morning and evening rush hour due to traffic heading further north into the Round Rock and Cedar Park area.
